May 18th 2005 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANDY!

I think that was the most drunken night ever.

Andy's Japanese themed party took place in our dormitory. Us girls all wore our lovely yukata. Mine's black with pink cherry blossoms and red cherries, Sabine's has the same design but in beige, Ellie's is purple chequered, Saranne's is pink chequered and Helen got a very smart blue one from a proper kimono shop (and she even tied her own obi, which looked amazing). We all looked gorgeous.

Ellie, me and Sabine in our beautiful yukata

At first we had shabu-shabu, which is basically just a hodge-podge of boiled meat and veg. Was pretty tasty. And after that came drinking games. We played drinking Pop-Up Pirate for over an hour (that is, if you make the pirate pop up, you have to down half as many fingers as swords stuck in the barrel), and then played a Japanese card game in which, if you draw the King, you make other people do a forfeit. Very fun!

Playing Drinking Pop-Up Pirate.  Saranne's the one in the pink yukata, and you can just see Helen in her high quality blue one in the background.

The food!  We initially had four hotplates on the go at one point, until we blew out most of the fuses!  It's interesting to point out that this room as a strictly "no food/drink" rule...

Ellie decides that Andy's baseball cap would be the perfect compliment to her yukata....

By the end of it all, birthday boy Andy was so pissed he had to be carried to bed, as did Ellie. And the rest of us are all very drunk too.

It was an awesome night. And now my yukata is incredibly skew-iff.
