Got a leafleting job interview today - went fine ^_^ And what's more,
thanks to a black cardigan bought today for £1.50, a pair of second-hand
pinstripe trousers and a shirt I bought two years ago for a university
interview, they say I dress smartly enough to do leafleting at a high
school (they want me to be smart for this because I have to pretend I'm an
English teacher from the company!). They told me outright that the reason
they wanted to employ people like me was because having "gaikokujin"
(the
politically correct term for "gaijin") working for them gives them a good
image. Who says appearances don't count for anything? :) Although this
does mean I will have to...tone-down my image a little. Although they said
that when I'm leafleting outside the company office there's no dress code,
I still think my spiky dog collar and wristband, which I wear every day,
will have to stay at home on work days. Though I think I can get away with
New Rocks ;)
