Ah, last night's Bounenkai (end-year party) was great.
We started off in Tom's room, where we had some drinks and snacks and did
Secret Santa. I got some great presents from my Secret Santa (Andy) - a
very cute Nightmare Before Christmas purse (Nightmare Before Christmas is
REALLY popular here), and a pair of gloves with the Japanese symbol for
"evil" on them, yay! Tom seemed pretty pleased with the presents I got him
too, a money box with funny "Engrish" (Japanese english!) written on it,
some "engrish" stickers, and the sequel to the book of Howl's Moving
Castle.
After this very Christmassy exchange of presents, we went off for a
nomihoudai/tabehoudai (all-you-can-eat-and-drink) at one of our favourite
restaurants. As usual, we all ate too much and got very drunk.
And after that, we went to a karaoke place, and did three hours of
karaoke. Was very pleased I got to sing Evanescence, Smash Mouth, Linkin
Park and Monty Python's "Sit on my Face!" We all got home at about 3:30am.
So, today, at lectures, it's not surprising that we weren't our usual
bright and cheery selves. We were all half asleep, and Nick and Tom had
lost their voices from singing too much. When I got home, I was so tired
that I slept until 6.00pm. Still, last night was definitely one of the
best nights we've had in Japan!
